Meet The Author

Daanish Kumar

Daanish Kumar is a biology enthusiast with an insatiable curiosity for the molecules that make life tick. Passionate about molecular biology, genetics, biotechnology, and the role of AI in science, Daanish founded TheCellBot.com—a platform where the latest in science is brought to a larger audience through storytelling.

What started as his personal journey to simplify complex scientific ideas has now shaped up as a science magazine. Through The Cell Bot, Daanish not only publishes his own articles and research essays, but also curates and uplifts voices from high school and undergraduate students.

While still in high school, he was accepted to intern at India’s leading hospitals in the departments of Medical Genetics and Molecular Biology, delving into NGS, Sanger sequencing, PCR, and cutting-edge genetic diagnostics, especially applicable to cancer genetics. But he is not all lab coat and pipettes. Daanish is also a national level footballer, a Trinity College London certified guitarist running his own YouTube Channel, and a wildlife trekking enthusiast who has hiked tough trails from Corbett to Canada.

In all his pursuits and in studying science, his biggest trait is to observe. Daanish sees science not as a silo but as a lens to understand, protect, and reimagine our world. His signature column, BotThoughts, reflects his personal perspectives—carefully researched, always thought-provoking, and sometimes out-of-the-box.

With every article, he hopes to inspire readers to stay curious, stay grounded in facts, and most importantly, ask better questions.
